Meet the committee …
Steve Knight
Chairman
I joined Caister Photography Club late in 2019, having been a member of various photographic clubs in other parts of the country. I printed my own photographs from negatives for many years and was a relatively late convert to the digital world. I usually work only with PDI’s and will photograph almost anything that interests me, although my first loves are travel and landscapes. I particularly enjoy post processing in Photoshop and during lockdown I have spent much more time creating Grunge art and Composites.

Treasurer
I first joined the club in the late 80's as part of a life long interest in photography. I was a monochrome printer for many years but since Photoshop replaced the developing dish I now work in digital and continue to produce travel and studio-based images. My primary output is projected images and web work but I also produce prints for exhibitions and give presentations on various aspects of photography.

I was born in Great Yarmouth and have lived in the area all my life . I enjoy being part of the club and having photography as a hobby, I also love baking, making greeting cards and a bit of crafting.
I have always loved taking photos, in early 2015 I bought my first DSLR and couldn't get a picture out of it, went on a starter course on photography and actually took a picture! Soon after I joined Caister photography club and have not looked back. I like to have a go at any type of photography and occasionally get a photo that I am proud of.

I have led the members out on many field trips and pass on my knowledge.

I am a very enthusiastic photographer. My Journey started after having a very nasty horse riding accident around 20 years ago. I took up photography as my partner said it would be less dangerous. I beg to differ as there are times when getting the photo is key and you seem to forget about the danger. I have been through many different cameras and lenses and I am currently using a Fuji XT3 & Formatt Hi-Tec Filters. . I have been out on many day workshops with a friends and quite a few Photographic holidays. Wales, Scotland And Devon. I enjoy most Genre’s in photography and will try my hand at anything. I am passionate about flower Photography and have bought a couple of Lensbaby lenses which make great images. I Love to see my images in print and like to use different papers. I like both Mono & Colour images. My Camera goes with me on nearly all my holidays and days out. I decided to enter into the many qualifications that are available to photographers and achieved my LRPS in February 2024 with the Royal Photographic Society. I joined the Club approximatly 20 years ago and have made a few friends along the way. There is always great inspiration from many so always more to achieve.

Secretary
When I was 8 years old, my Dad bought me my first camera. My passion started there and has remained with me all my life. My other passion is walking with my dogs. I love travel and the photographic opportunities that it gives me. I enjoy most genres of photography but especially trying to be more creative in camera and experimenting with different lenses, techniques, filters and angles. I have achieved both my LRPS and ARPS with The Royal Photographic Society and also my CPAGB, credit distinction with The Photographic Alliance of Great Britain. I currently shoot with the new Fuji XT5 and a variety of Fujinon lenses. I very much enjoy seeing my images as prints, especially in monochrome, in preference to digital files. It is great to be a member of a club, as it can inspire and encourage you to improve by seeing other photographers work, as well as making new friends.

My main interest in photography is monochrome - especially UK landscapes. I use a canon 6D with canon lenses and process my images using Light room and Nik Silver Efex Pro 2. I use LEE filters. I like to study photographers; my favourite artists are Andreas Gursky, Daido Moriyama and Todd Hido. I visit galleries and exhibitions a lot - I frequently go to The Tates and the Photographer's Gallery in London or The Sainsbury Centre at UEA. My photos can be found on Instagram under rangerweasey. I have been a member of the club since 2013. I am a high school teacher. I have a season ticket at Norwich City and love to talk all things canaries.
